On 1-5-08 District 6 and Rescue 1 responded to Hwy 64 east of Wal-Mart on a 2 vehicle
crash with rollover. The roof had to be removed before the pt could be extricated.
At 4:30 AM on new years day District 5,6,,8,9 and engine 12 responded to a structure fire at
the Hillside Auction house @ 175 Mt. Comfort Rd. The first unit on the scene reported
smoke and fire showing from the D side of building. 21 firefighters braved the frigid
tempature of 19 to control the fire. 3 engines 4 tankers and ladder 64 were used and stayed
on the scene for 4 hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation. While fighting this fire
we recieved a call of an abandoned house burning on Sutton hollow Rd. District 10
responded to it.
Hardin County's youngest firefighter
On 1-13-2009 District 2 and Rescue 1 responded to a 2
vehicle MVC at Hwy 64 & Hwy 69 intersection. 2 people
were transported with injuries.
On Feb. 1, 2009 22 firefighters from district 6, station 12 &
Savannah E-2 responded to a reported fire at 460 Walkertown
Dr. To Walkertown beauty shop. Firefighters arrived within 4
minutes and quickly extinguished the fire, The cause of the fire
is under investigation.
On Feb. 3, around 3 AM firefighters from district 15, 2 and station 12 responded to a house fire
on Marshel Rd. The fire started in the wall on the back side of the house. the fire was
contained to the back wall and attic of the home. The house was currently under renovation
and not occupied.
City of Savannah and Station 12 responded to a vehicle
accident in front of Wal-mart on 2-5-09. No injuries
.
On 2-7-09 Hardin County Firefighters and Rescue Squad members from surounding counties
work on the river near the Savannah bridge on recover operations of a drowning victim.
On 2-12-09 Firefighters from District 11, 14, 8 and Engine 12 responded to a mobile home fire on Gulmer
Loop. The fire was quickly extinguish, but the home was a total loss. The fire started in the bedroom.
On 2-16-09 District 3, 2 and engine 12 responded to a residential  
fire on Rock Pile Lane in Counce.

3/24/2009 District 3,7 and E-12 responded to a large house fire on Island
View Drive. The structure was fully invovlved and a total loss.

District 5, 6 and Rescue 1 responded to a vehicle accident  on Hwy 226 near Hwy 64 on the
morning of 5-31-2009, One patient trapped, aproximatley 30 minute extrication.
On 6-8-09 Hardin County District 2,3, and 6 responded with 4 tankers
to assist the McNairy County fire department on a large pallet
warehouse fire in Stantonville. There was 1 fatality in the fire.
Control Burn
District 5, 6 and Rescue 1 responded to a vehicle accident  on Hwy 226 near Hwy 64 on
the morning of 5-31-2009, One patient trapped, aproximatley 30 minute extrication.
6/12/09 District 2 and rescue 1 one responded to a 3 vehicle accident  
in front of 64 truck stop in Crump. Two fatalities and two others  injured
House fire District 3, propane tank venting when the first truck arrived.
Panama City Beach Dive Team trip 6-19-09
6/29/2009 Haz-mat and Rescue responded to report of a possible bomb on Hwy 64 bridge in Savannah. It was found to
be a homemade fireworks device, and was not dangerous. It was removed and sent to the Hardin County Sheriffs Dept.
At 03:35 AM July 4, 2009  District 2, 6 and Engine 12 responded to a house fire at 170
Pauline Drive. The house was fully involved upon arrival. A dump tank was setup and
aprox. 8000 gallons of water used to extinguish the fire. The owner was not at home at
the time of the fire, it started in the garage area.
On 7-15-2009 Roger Hawley, Chris Smith, and Melvin Martin traveled to the Tennessee Fire Academy in Bedford county to
assist in building the TN Fallen Firefighter Memorial. The memorial dedication and grand opening will be held on Sept. 11, 2009
The Hardin County Fire Department was
recognized at the recent TN Fire Chief's
Conference for completing 1,981 hours of training
through the Tennessee Fire Academy. This ranks
in the top 15 of all fire departments in TN. Fire Chief
Melvin Martin is shown excepting the award from
Ed Hines, Program Director at the Fire Academy.
8/29/2009 , 9 firefighters completed the 24 hour new recruit class ,  
congratulations!!! From Chief Martin, be safe
District 7 and E-12 responded to reported shed on fire at 1090
Sunset Dr. the shed was fully involved upon arrival.
08/25/2009 Hardin County divers responded to the Pickwick Landing State Park to
recover a car from the boat ramp, their were no injuries reported.

On 9-17-09 District 3, 7 and E-12 responded to a house fire on Roberts
Ln. in Counce, The owner was not at home at the time of the fire, the
house was fully involved when the first engine arrived. The cause of
the fire is suspected to be a lightning strike during a storm
.

Firefighter Memorial at the State Fire Academy near Shebyville TN

visited Whites Elementary school
on  Monday October 5th.
On Oct. 10, 2009 a side by side sprinkler demonstration was held in the
lowes parking lot in Savannah. This showed the dramatic difference that a
home fire sprinkler will make if you have a fire in your home
