1. You must be at least the age of 18 and you will be subject to approval baised off of
references, background check, and driver's license validity.

2. You must have a valid state of TN driver's license & attach a copy to your application.

If you do not attach a copy it will be considered incomplete.

3. Must live in Hardin County and be willing to respond 24/7, as work permits.

4. You must be willing to attend training sessions and district meetings every month.

5. You will be required to complete all of the following classes within the first 2 years of
being on:

  • 24 hour new recruit (YOU CANNNOT RESPOND WITHOUT THIS CLASS!)

  • 64 hour basic fire class

  • ICS-100 (online, must be completed before 24hr class is taken)
  • ICS-700 (online, must be completed before 24hr class is taken)

  • EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operating Class
before operating any county vehicles)
  • Tanker/Pumper Operations Class
  • Emergency Vehicle Driving Simulator

  • VKF (Vannessa K. Free) every year after EVOC.
Are you under 18 years of age, but still would like to join?
1. You must live in Hardin County and be between the ages of 14 - 17.

2. You will be subject to approval based off of references, background check (if permitable
due to age), and driver's license validity (if permitable due to age).

3. If you have a permit or valid state of TN driver's license & attach a copy to your
application.
If you do not attach a copy it will be considered incomplete.

4. During school hours, including after school activities, and between the hours of 10pm
and 7am
NO ACTIVITY IS PERMITTED!! IF YOU SHOW UP YOU WILL BE
REPRIMANDED!!

5. Each member will have a 90 day probationary period that can lead to the privilege of
having gear and a pager, or being terminated from the program due to special
circumstances (typically this is requirements that are not being met.)

6. All Junior Firefighters will meet once a month, on the second Saturday of that month, at
11am and must be present to remain an active Junior Firefighter.
